June Ellen Sarver, 76, a resident of Patterson, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023.

June was born August 19, 1947, in Arnaudville, the daughter of Altheon Hebert and Agnes Bernard Hebert.

June worked as a caregiver for many years. It was a job she enjoyed immensely that gave her great joy.

She was a fabulous cook and her cooking was enjoyed by many. Her mother taught her well as she handed down her recipes to her daughter.

Her love for life was infectious. Her personality made her the life of the party.

June was known for her strength and courage, was a strong woman who never let hardship bring her down. She overcame a lot in her life but always had joy and hope. She would go above and beyond to ensure the well being of her friends and family.

In her final years, she resided in Patterson where she found solace and companionship in the nursing home, she called home. She formed deep connections with the staff and fellow residents, who became an extension of her family. Her absence will be deeply felt.

She will be sadly missed and remembered by her daughter, Melissa and her husband Michael Crago of Flint, Texas. Dear sisters, Octavia Berry of Denham Springs and Leeanna and her husband Ronald Dejean of Cecilia, as well as sisters-in-law, Alice Hebert of Bayou L’Ourse and Jeanette Hebert of Crowley.

June was preceded in death by her parents, ex-husband, Bobby Sarver of Bayou Vista. Four brothers, Sergeant First Class Alton Hebert of Arnaudville, Dallas Hebert of Crowley, Douglas Hebert of Morgan City, and Leopold Hebert of Bayou L’Ourse. One sister, Grace Castille of Breaux Bridge. Brothers-in-law Patrick Castille of Breaux Bridge and J.C. Berry of Denham Springs. Two nieces, Loretta Hebert of Crowley and Kathy Hebert of Bayou L’Ourse. Two nephews, Quinn Dejean and Ryan Dejean both of Cecilia.

The family would like to give special thanks and gratitude to her dear friend, Vanessa Solet, for being such a dear friend throughout the many years and for all her help through this difficult time. They would also like to thank Patterson Healthcare for the care they have given June and to Journey Hospice. Special thank you for the love of all her friends and their family at the nursing home. She truly loved you all so very much.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Brett Lapeyrouse officiating. Family and friends may gather at Twin City Funeral Home, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 5:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and again Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. After Mass, June will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
