Jeanerette Man Killed in New Iberia Shooting

NEW IBERIA, La. — A Jeanerette man is dead following a shooting Monday evening in the City of New Iberia.
According to witnesses and family members, Anthony Brian Thomas, 34, of Jeanerette, was shot and killed in the 500 block of Johnston Street.
Officers with the New Iberia Police Department responded just after 7:30 p.m. to multiple reports of shots fired in the area of South Hopkins Street and Johnston Street. Upon arrival, officers found Thomas lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say the incident remains under investigation. At this time, no suspect information has been released.
