James Edward “Jimmy” Castalano Sr, 76, a resident of Morgan City, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Baton Rouge General Medical Center.

Jimmy was born on September 14, 1945 in Morgan City, the son of Luke Castalano and Telitha Stansbury Castalano.

Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish, but his passion was being out with his horses. He was a charter member of the Atchafalaya Bit and Bridle Club. Jimmy was also a licensed pilot who enjoyed being up in the sky, flying his sea plane.

He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Judy Jordan Castalano of Morgan City; two sons, James E. “Jim” Castalano Jr. and Jeff Castalano and wife Marla, both of Morgan City; one granddaughter, Melanie Castalano; two step grandchildren, Ryan Landry and wife Kasey and Tyler Mathis; five step great grandchildren, Slade, Tyler Jr., Emily, Bryce and Blayne; one brother, Chris Castalano and wife Darlene of Lockport.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Janet Castalano.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Twin City Funeral Home with a visitation being held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Following the services, Jimmy will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
