Houma Man Arrested After Labadieville Shooting Incident Investigation

LABADIEVILLE – According to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon, Jeramey A. Johnson, 39, of 109 Polk Street, Houma, LA, was arrested on various felony counts stemming from a shooting incident that occurred on July 22, 2021 between the areas of Willow and Maple Street in Labadieville.

Deputies were dispatched to the area on the above date and discovered that two male victims had been shot. Both were able to recover from their injuries.

Authorities launched an investigation, which culminated in the arrest of one of the shooting victims on felony narcotics charges.

Shaquille Thomas Starks, 27, of 405 Maple Street, Labadieville, LA, was arrested on January 15, 2022, on suspicion of methamphetamine and marijuana possession. Starks was later convicted of methamphetamine possession.

Detectives requested for and were given arrest warrants for Jeramey A. Johnson on November 12, 2021 as a result of the ongoing investigation, but Johnson had fled the region shortly after the event.

Jeramey A. Johnson was arrested and put into the Assumption Parish Correctional Center on Monday on charges of attempted second degree murder, illegal use of weapons and dangerous instruments, and illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Jeramey A. Johnson remains behind bars, his bond set at $225,000.
