Henry J. Vidos, longtime resident of Bayou Vista, passed away at the age of 58 on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House in Lafayette following a sudden battle with cancer.

Henry was a longtime employee of Bollinger Ship Yard in Amelia. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, and was a sports car and Mixed Martial Arts enthusiast. He especially loved spending time with family and friends, and most of all his grandchildren.

Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his son, Travis Theriot and his wife Jessica of Morgan City; his grandchildren, Trevor and Natalie Theriot of Morgan City; his sister, Faith Breaux and her husband Randy of Youngsville; and his nephews, Ryan and Brandon Breaux.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Ribardi and Marie Guidry Ribardi.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 11, 2022, at Ibert’s Mortuary in Patterson from 9:00 AM until time of dismissal at 11:00 AM, with the Holy Rosary being prayed at 10:40 AM.

Funeral services will be held Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson during an 11:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Following the Mass he will be laid to rest in the mausoleum in St. Joseph Cemetery. Father Michael Russo will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Travis Theriot, Trevor Theriot, Randy Breaux, Ryan Breaux, Brandon Breaux, Ralph Bergeron, Billy Hebert, and Travis Savoy, with Bill Burgess as honorary pallbearer.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Henry’s name to St. Joseph Hospice Foundation, 17732 Highland Road., Suite G, Box 241, Baton Rouge, LA 70810.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to his Oncologist, Dr. Akshjot Puri, and to Father Francis Fontenot and the staff at St. Joseph Hospice of Lafayette for their loving and compassionate care given to Henry in his time of need.
