The Yokley Bayou Basin Drainage Project began decades ago in an effort to alleviate flooding in low-lying areas of Franklin.

The City of Franklin, St. Mary Parish Government, and St. Mary Parish Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 have finally finalized steps to secure right of way along the project, allowing it to begin.

The Yokely Bayou channel excavation will help to increase its capacity during heavy rain events throughout the City of Franklin.

Miller Engineer & Associates is the lead engineering firm on the Yokely Bayou Basin Drainage Project, which has a budget of $1,343,263.30. Frisco Industrial Contractors, LLC received the lowest bid for this project after the bid was opened.
