Gibson Man Arrested After Investigation Of Stolen Work Trailer

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Skyler Craig Gibson, 28, of 6161 Bayou Black Dr., Gibson, LA, on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges related to a series of investigations in the Assumption Parish area.

Deputies were dispatched to the Labadieville area in connection with the theft of a work trailer from a truck stop. Deputies initiated an investigation which included interviewing company representatives of the stolen trailer. That process led to an interview of a third-party witness who was able to identify Skyler Craig Gibson as the suspect. Deputies located and interviewed Gibson in connection with the theft. That process led to a recovery of the trailer in Gibson, LA.

During the initial interview as well as subsequent interviews later in the investigation, Skyler Craig Gibson was connected to numerous other criminal cases.
Those cases involved property including trailers, tools, a chain saw, sheet metal and numerous other work-related items stolen primarily from the Bayou L’ Ourse area during the time period of late November and early January.

Detectives were able to recover the stolen trailers in and around the Terrebonne Parish area.

Skyler Craig Gibson was arrested on January 7, 2022 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

  • Felony Theft – 2 counts
  • Misdemeanor Theft – 4 counts
  • Criminal Trespass – 4 counts

Skyler Craig Gibson remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
