Genevieve Guidry Price, 87, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Maison Jardin Senior Living, surrounded by her loving family.

Genevieve was born on October 20, 1934 in Morgan City, the daughter of Eugene C. Guidry Sr. and Emily Gros Guidry.

Genevieve was a hard-working lady who never stopped, she would get up early, make breakfast for her children and send them off to school. She retired from Schlumberger as a senior operations clerk but also worked at several local banks including MC Bank and Teche Federal Bank and also worked as a legal secretary for local attorneys. After working all day, she would come home and fix supper for her family each night. On Saturday she would clean her house and then on Sunday, the whole family went to church. In all of this, she always found time for family fun and fishing as well as visiting her friends and extended family. She leaves behind many great memories to cherish and storiesto tell. Genevieve was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4222, Desk and Derrik Club of Morgan City and a proud member of the Catholic Daughters for over 40 years.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by, five children, Emily P. Morgan and husband Patrick, Lee F. Price and wife Pam, Charles O. Price and wife Lisa, Morris J. Price and wife Gwen, John D. Price and wife Becky; 12 grandchildren, Patrick Morgan Jr. and spouse Novy, Kenneth Morgan and spouse Lauren, Jeremy Price and spouse Jill, Joshua Price and spouse Courtney, Jordan Price and spouse Mandy, Harleigh Price, Krista Wiggins and spouse Curtis, Kristopher Price and spouse Jon, Beth Chiasson and spouse Tyler, Kyle Price and spouse Amanda, LeeAnne Richard and spouse Tyler, Courtney Ratcliff and spouse Andrew III, plus two girls that were like her own grandbabies, Mindy and Shelby; 15 great grandchildren, Maddox, Piper, Bradley, Jayden, Emma, Tyler, Tucker, Beau, Jaxon, Jace, McKenna, Adelyn, James, Kinsley and Ava. Genevieve is also survived by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Price Family and close family friends, Susie Sanford, Mamie Grier and Doc and Sandra Woodard.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee Otis PriceJr.; father and mother-in-law, Lee O. Price Sr. and Agnes S. Price; three brothers, Emilie Lulu Guidry and wife Francis, Dave Guidry and wife Martha and Eugene and wife LeDora. Genevieve was also preceded in death by numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Price Family as well as her close friend, Vivian Steib.

The family would like to thank the staff of Heart of Hospice, Maison Jardin, Dr. Frances Metz III and Dr. Gervais for the love and care they extended to Genevieve.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Henry Sebastian celebrating Mass. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Twin City Funeral Home with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 p.m. The visitation will resume from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church. Following Mass, Genevieve will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association  or Sacred Heart Church.
