Multiple fire departments responded to garbage truck on fire on in Patterson Wednesday morning after it clipped a power line. The truck was in the process of emptying a dumpster south of the railroad on Lassus Street when it clipped the line which resulted in the truck and its contents catching fire.
The contents were emptied and the fire was extinguished. Patterson and Bayou Vista Volunteer Fire Departments and the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
