Franklin Police Department Issues Scam Alert

by KQKInews
1 minutes read
Franklin Police Chief Morris Beverly is advising the public that members of the Franklin community are receiving scam phone calls from a fake Franklin number in reference to the Social Security Administration “issuing a warrant for your arrest”.
The robocall further demands you not hang up and Press 1 to speak to an operator. Scammers are reportedly telling callers that they must provide personal information to have this warrant recalled. Beverly says that information is false. The Social Security Administration will not contact you in this way.
Chief Beverly advises residents to ignore those calls and if you have any questions regarding your Social Security, please contact your local Social Security Administration office.
