Fireworks Extravaganza Canceled for Sunday Night Due to Burn Ban

Officials with the Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival have announced that Sunday night’s Fireworks Extravaganza over the Atchafalaya River has been canceled due to the statewide burn ban.

While the annual fireworks display is shot over water, the Louisiana Fire Marshal’s Office is not granting exceptions or issuing permits for fireworks at this time.
