Dustin was born on January 15, 1987 in Morgan City and passed away unexpectedly at the age of 34 on Friday, March 19, 2021, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans due to an unforeseen heart condition. Dustin was diagnosed at an early age with Cerebral Palsy though throughout his life he never let his disability stop him. He was the second of five children of Danny and Christine Ritter, was a former longtime resident of Patterson, and has resided in Centerville for the past four years.

Dustin was just an all-around great person who would do anything for anyone. He loved riding his four-wheeler and listening to music and was an avid Saints fans. He was truly his mom’s shadow and loved their spontaneous road trips they often would take. He always stayed on top of current events and unlike most, he loved politics. Most importantly though was his love for his family. He simply adored his nephews and cherish time with all his loved ones. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his parents, Danny J. Ritter Sr. and Christine Romero Ritter; his brother, Drake M. Ritter and his wife Lacie Ritter; his sister, Makayla J. Ritter; his paternal grandfather, Franklin D. Ritter and his wife Diane Ritter; his maternal grandparents, Russell Romero and Aline Ratcliff Romero; his nephews, Kolby, Kadin, Landyn, and Jadyn Ritter; his aunt, Debbie Boswell and her husband Walter Boswell; his uncle, Rodney Romero; as well as a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Danny J. Ritter Jr.; an infant sister, Chelsi Lynn Ritter; and his paternal grandmother, Helen Rulf Ritter.

Those serving as pallbearers include Drake Ritter, Kolby Ritter, Brandon Boutte, Sammy Boutte Jr., Jeremy Solar, and Jason Boswell.
