Doris “Ms. D” Mae Budd, 81, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, Monday, August 12, 2024, at Ochsner St. Mary.
Doris was born December 10, 1942, the daughter of Betty Landry and Samuel Jess Budd.
Doris will be remembered for her infectious smile and optimistic attitude. She had a love for painting, especially her skillful work with oil paints. She had a talent for puzzles, and an unwavering devotion to her family and her cherished dog, Rusty. Doris’s friends were like her family, and she enjoyed spending time with them. Doris loved to dance, and she will now be dancing in Heaven.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Wendy Lee Taylor; son, Byron Keith Moses; sister, Gloria Whitten; brother, Hershel Budd; two grandsons, Gary Wayne Taylor and Matthew Moses; two great-grandchildren, Lainey Claire Taylor, Ayden Ross Taylor, and nieces and nephews. Doris will also be missed by Bill and Anne Cefalu and her Mosquito Bar family.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Budd and Betty Landry, brother, David Budd.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home, with Father Francis Kayaye officiating. A visitation will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Twin City Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. After services, Doris will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
