A community event in Pierre Part took an unexpected turn on Saturday night, resulting in the arrests of Hobie Paul Hebert, 26, and Farrah N. Domingue, 26, both of Pierre Part, on felony charges.

Deputies assigned to security at the event intervened when Hebert and Domingue were observed engaging in a physical altercation. As deputies attempted to determine what had happened, Hebert tried to walk away despite being told to remain. His confrontational behavior escalated into a physical altercation with deputies. Hebert was arrested and later intentionally caused damage to a Sheriff’s Office patrol unit.

The investigation revealed that Hebert and Domingue had been fighting for an extended period. Hebert was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of resisting an officer by force or violence, battery of a police officer, simple criminal damage to property, and two counts of disturbing the peace. He remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.

Domingue was also arrested and booked into the detention center on charges of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of disturbing the peace. She too remains incarcerated awaiting a bond hearing.
