Communities Unlimited is offering Disaster Recovery Repair Grants to help very low-income homeowners repair homes damaged by presidentially declared disasters.
The program provides grant funding to cover repair costs for damage caused by qualifying disasters. It is designed to support families, especially in rural communities, who may struggle to access resources and navigate the recovery process.
Communities Unlimited’s Housing Team assists homeowners through every step, from completing funding applications to understanding and managing home repairs. The goal is to help families restore safe, livable homes and move forward after a disaster.
To be eligible, applicants must own the home or have a life estate or long-term lease, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, be able to personally occupy the home, and meet very-low-income limits set by Rural Development.
Residents interested in applying or learning more may speak with representatives of Communities Unlimited who will be on hand at the West St. Mary Civic Center on Tuesday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm for those living between Franklin and Four Corners, and on Wednesday from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium for those residing from Centerville to Amelia.
