City of Morgan City Warns of Scam

Employees at the City of Morgan City said they were recently made aware of a scam that involved an unknown individual attempting to obtain funds from vendors for the upcoming Spring Market.

Organizers advised the scammer had attempted to collect vendor fees using PayPal. Organizers for the Spring Market said they are only accepting direct payments at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium located at 728 Myrtle St., Morgan City, LA., 70380 or Post Office Box 1218, Morgan City, LA., 70381.

Police said the City of Morgan City does not solicit funds using PayPal, Venmo, Cash App. or other web-based financial institutions.
