Chief BC Trahan announces that the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department recently joined the Louisiana Attorney General’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.  The department’s participation in this collaborative initiative has already led to the successful arrest in a child exploitation case.
Following an extensive investigation, officers with the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department secured an arrest warrant for Austin English, 23, of Chickasaw, Alabama.  English is charged with Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor and Indecent Behavior with a juvenile.
On Thursday morning, May 29, 2025, the Alabama State Bureau of Investigations ICAC unit executed a search warrant at English’s home and took him into custody for CPD’s warrant.  English was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail.  English waived extradition and on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Chitimacha Tribal Police Department Officers traveled to Mobile, AL, took English into custody, and transported him to the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department for processing and booking.  English was then transported to the St Mary Parish jail.
This investigation reflects our department’s unwavering commitment to protecting our most vulnerable, our children.  Joining the ICAC Task Force has already proven to be a critical step in expanding our reach and strengthening our investigative capabilities.  The Chitimacha Tribal Police Department thanks the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation for their assistance and partnership.
This investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests or charges may be forthcoming.
Chief Trahan and the men and women of the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department remain dedicated to the safety and well-being of the community and will continue to pursue those who seek to exploit children, both locally and beyond.
If you have information about this investigation or you or someone you know has been the victim of online exploitation, you are encouraged to reach out to the Chitimacha Tribal Police Department at 337-923-4964 or your local law enforcement agency.
