TERREBONNE PARISH (September 22, 2025) – State Fire Marshal (SFM) deputies are investigating a mobile home fire that claimed the life of a 70-year-old Terrebonne Parish woman and sent her 70-year-old boyfriend to the hospital Saturday morning.

The Little Caillou Fire Department responded to the fire at 6:17 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025, located in the 5300 block of Bayouside Drive in Chauvin. SFM investigators have determined the home had no working smoke alarms.

At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

DPS Principal Assistant, Chief Bryan J. Adams encourages all Louisiana residents to ensure their homes are protected with smoke alarms. If you do not have one or need help installing one, the Department’s Operation Save-A-Life program provides free smoke alarms and installation.
