A Patterson man was arrested in Berwick on Monday afternoon after reportedly driving the wrong way on the Highway 90 bridge, striking the side of the bridge and leaving the scene.

Berwick Police Department Lieutenant Quentin Menard told KQKI News that on Monday afternoon at approximately 2:30 pm, they received a report of a reckless driver who was allegedly driving in the wrong direction on the Highway 90 bridge and drove down the Highway 90 up ramp.  The suspect reportedly struck the side of the bridge, abandoned the vehicle and walked to a nearby business.

The suspect, 33-year-old Jordan Gant of Patterson, was located at the business shortly after receiving the complaint. Menard said Gant showed several signs of impairment and refused a sobriety test.

Gant was charged with DWI and Hit & Run.  He was released Tuesday on a $3,500 bond.
