Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrest:
Nicholas Grimmett W/M 41 South Verrett St. Morgan City was arrested on August 3,2022 at 08:57AM for
WARRANT- BATTERY OF A DATING PARTNER (2ND OFFENSE)
On August 3, 2022 at 08:57 Grimmett was transported to the Berwick Police Department from the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Grimmett had an active warrant through the Berwick Police Department for Battery of a Dating Partner. The warrant stems from a complaint in January 2022 where it was reported that Grimmett committed a battery on a female victim. Grimmett was booked on the outstanding warrant without incident.
Rachel King W/F 38 First St. Berwick was arrested on August 3, 2022 at 1:03PM for
REMAINING WHERE FORBIDDEN
DISTURBING THE PEACE
On August 3, 2022 at approximately 12:57 PM the Berwick Police Department received a call of a female causing a disturbance at a local business and hollering at employees. Upon arrival at the business, officers made contact with King. During this time it was learned that King had been previously told not to return back to the business due to causing problems at the business in the recent past. King was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked on the charges of Disturbing the Peace and Remaining Where Forbidden.
