Berwick Arrest Report 8-22-2022

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard, Sr. reports the following arrests:

Melissa Runnels, 34-years-old, of Wilson St. Houma, LA, was arrested on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 6:28PM, on the following charges:

  • Possession of Marijuana (Under 14 Grams)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

On August 19th, at 5:28PM, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on US Hwy 90. The driver was identified as Runnels and during the course of the traffic stop, officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle that belonged to Runnels. She was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court.

Ansley P. Holloway, 23-years-old, of New Iberia, LA, was arrested on Friday, August 19, 2022, at 7:32PM, on the following charges:

  • Speeding 81/55
  • Possession of Marijuana (Under 14 Grams)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

On August 19th, at 7:21PM, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding on US Hwy 90. The driver was identified as Holloway and during the course of the traffic stop, officers located marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle that belonged to Holloway. She was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court.

Thomas W. Giroir, 32-years-old, of Evergreen Ave. Morgan City, LA, was arrested on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:54AM, on the following charge:

  • Simple Battery

On August 20th, at 2:21AM, officers were dispatched to a residence on Todd St. in reference to a disturbance in progress. Officers arrived on scene and found that a physical altercation between two individuals had just occurred and one of the individuals involved was identified as Giroir. Throughout the course of the investigation, officers learned that a verbal altercation between Thomas and another subject took place at a lounge in Morgan City, which led to a residence in Berwick where the physical altercation ultimately took place. Following the investigation, Giroir was arrested for Simple Battery and released on a summons to appear in court. The other subject involved sought medical treatment, therefore, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Larry Rebardi, 63-years-old, of Hunting Rd. Franklin, LA, was arrested on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 4:23AM, on the following charge:

  • St. Mary SO Warrant: Failure to Appear on the charge of Battery of a Dating Partner

On August 21st, at 3:42AM, officers were dispatched to a business on River Rd. in reference to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the occupant of the vehicle and identified him as Rebardi. A warrants check was conducted and Rebardi was found to have a warrant through the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was placed under arrest and booked into the Berwick Jail where he remains with a bond being set at $5,000.00.

Nathan Corley, 43-years-old, of Hwy 182 in Morgan City, LA, was arrested on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at 2:24PM, on the following charge:

  • Berwick PD Warrant: Theft over $1,000.00

On August 21st, at 2:21PM, officers located Corley at a residence on Burchfield Lane and took him into custody on an outstanding warrant through the Berwick Police Department for Felony Theft. The warrant stems from an investigation dated May 28, 2022, in which the victim reported that Corley stole his lawn mower then pawned it at a local pawn shop. An investigation was conducted and officers located the evidence to support that the lawnmower was in fact pawned by Corley. A warrant was prepared for his arrest following that investigation. Upon his arrest, he was booked into the Berwick Police Department where he remains with a bond being set at $4,500.00.
