Berwick Arrest Report 5-2-2023

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:

B/M Juvenile 16 Young St. Berwick was arrested on May 1, 2023 at 4:07 PM for

  • BERWICK WARRANT- SIMPLE ROBBERY
  • BERWICK WARRANT- SIMPLE BATTERY

On May 1, 2023 at approximately 4:05 PM investigators with the Berwick Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence on Young Street in reference to an on-going robbery investigation that occurred on Friday April 28, 2023. During this time, one of the juvenile suspects was located at the residence who had active warrants as part of the investigation. The juvenile was placed under arrest without incident. The juvenile was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the warrants for Simple Robbery and Simple Battery. Following the booking process, the juvenile was released to a parent pending a court hearing.

Wilbur Richard Jr. W/M 39 Egle St. Morgan City was arrested on May 1, 2023 at 7:40 PM for

  • MORGAN CITY WARRANTS- FAILURE TO APPEAR

On May 1, 2023 at approximately 7:30 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle and Richard was identified as a passenger. During the course of the stop, it was learned that Richard had active warrants through the Morgan City Police Department. Richard was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department for booking.

Janna Gilmore W/F 37 Arcemont Ln. Morgan City was arrested on May 1, 2023 at 10:37 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE IV CDS ALPRAZOLAM
  • OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
  • INTRODUCTION OF CONTRABAND INTO A PENAL FACILITY

On May 1, 2023 at approximately 9:50 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle after a lane violation was observed. During this time, Gilmore was identified as a passenger inside the vehicle. A strong odor of Marijuana was detected and a search of the vehicle was conducted. During this time Methamphetamine was located. Gilmore was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department. Upon arrival at the Berwick Police Department, it was learned that Gilmore had Alprazolam pills concealed on her person. She was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule IV CDS Alprazolam, Obstruction of Justice, and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility.
