Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:
Benjamin Cheramie W/M 53 of Berwick was arrested on Friday March 29,2024 at 10:42PM for
- ST. MARY PARISH WARRANT- FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR CRIMINAL NEGLECT OF FAMILY
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
On March 29,2024 at approximately 10:24 PM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for a lane violation that was observed on US Hwy. 90. Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Cheramie. Through the course of the stop, it was learned that Cheramie had active warrants through the St. Mary Parish Sheriffs Office. Cheramie was placed under arrest and a search of his person was conducted at which time Marijuana and items of Drug Paraphernalia were located. Cheramie was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above charges.
Riley Lodrigue W/M 18 of Morgan City was arrested on Saturday March 30,2024 at 04:09 AM for
- IMRPOPER LANE USAGE
- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
On March 29,2024 at approximately 03:54 AM officers were in the area of US Hwy. 90 and observed a vehicle commit several lane violations. A traffic stop was conducted and officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Lodrigue. During the course of the stop, an odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted at which time Marijuana was located. Lodrigue was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court for the above charges.
Melissa Bundrick W/F 40 of Berwick was arrested on Saturday March 30,2024 at 7:32 PM for
- RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
- NO DRIVER’S LICENSE
- HOLD FOR TEXAS- FOR THE CHARGES OF THEFT AND DWI 2ND
On March 30,2024 at approximately 7:20 PM an officer was flagged down in reference to a complaint of a reckless driver. A description of the vehicle was given and was located a short time later. Officers made contact with the driver who was identified as Bundrick. Through the course of the stop, it was learned that Bundrick did not have a driver’s license and held several active warrants through the Fort Worth area. Bundrick was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked on the above charges.
Keith Pharagood B/M 58 of Thibodaux was arrested on Sunday March 31,2024 at 01:20 AM for
- OBSTRUCTING PUBLIC PASSAGES
- FAILURE TO SECURE REGISTRATION
- NO INSURANCE
- DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION
- RECKLESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
- DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED
- HOLD FOR LAFOURCHE PARISH SHERIFFS OFFICE- DOMESTIC ABUSE WARRANT
On March 31,2024 at approximately 01:07 AM officers patrolling the Us Hwy. 90 area observed a vehicle operating in a reckless manner. Shortly after the vehicle passed the officers, it came to a complete stop in the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted and officers contacted Pharagood and detected impairment. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests were conducted which he performed poorly on and was placed under arrest. Pharagood was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he provided a valid breath sample of 0.156G% BAC. It was learned that his driver’s license was suspended, and the vehicle had no insurance or proper registration. A warrants check revealed that Pharagood had active warrants through the Lafourche Parish Sheriffs Office. Pharagood was then booked on the above charges.
