Berwick Arrest Report 3-13-2024

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests beginning from March 10, 2024:

Decator Crochet W/M 26 of New Orleans was arrested on March 10,2024 at 8:15 PM for

  • WARRANT- POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
  • WARRANT- POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • WARRANT- RESISTING AN OFFICER

On February 7, 2024 officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after a traffic violation was observed. During the course of the stop, Crochet was identified as a passenger and Marijuana and items of paraphernalia belonging to him were located. Crochet was advised that he was being placed under arrest and fled on foot. Warrants were then issued for his arrest. On March 10, 2024 Crochet was located at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center. Crochet was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the above warrants.

Aubrey Ourso W/M 69 of Jeanerette was arrested on March 11, 2024 at 1:57 PM for

  • TAILLIGHTS REQUIRED
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA

Joann Ourso W/F 53 of Jeanerette was arrested on March 11, 2024 at 1:57 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CDS METHAMPHETAMINE
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I CDS MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)
  • POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
  • ILLEGAL CARRYING OF A WEAPON

On March 11,2024 at approximately 12:51 PM a traffic stop was conducted on vehicle after it was observed to not have proper tail lights. Aubrey Ourso was identified as the driver and Joann was identified as a passenger. Through the course of the stop a K-9 was contacted and after an open-air sniff of the vehicle, a probable cause search was done. During this time, Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Paraphernalia and a firearm was located inside. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that the Marijuana and paraphernalia belonged to Aubrey and Joann. It was further learned that the Methamphetamine and firearm belonged to Joann. Both were placed under arrest. Aubrey was released on a summons for Taillights Required, Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana (Under 14 Grams), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Joann was transported to the Berwick Police Department where she was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule II CDS Methamphetamine, Possession of Schedule I CDS Marijuana (Under 14 Grams), Illegal Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Jace Lodrigue W/M 25 of Berwick was arrested on March 12, 2024 at 8:07 PM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE
  • RESISTING AN OFFICER

On March 12, 2024 at approximately 7:37 PM the Berwick Police Department received a call about a subject causing a disturbance and making threats to family members at a residence on Oregon Street. Officers responded and learned that Jace Lodrigue was inside possible armed with a weapon. After a brief moment, officers were able to call Lodrigue out of the residence who exited armed with a wooden object. Lodrigue was given numerous verbal commands to drop the item and comply with officers which he refused. A taser was utilized and deployed and Lodrigue was able to be taken into custody without further incident. He was then transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Disturbing the Peace and Resisting an Officer.
