Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrest:
16-year-old male juvenile of Berwick, was arrested on February 8, 2023, at 3:49PM, on the following charge:
- Warrant: Simple Robbery
On January 31st, at 4:52PM, the Berwick Police Department responded to the Knight St. area in reference to a robbery complaint. Officers met with the victim and learned that as he was walking down the street, he was approached by a group of individuals. During the incident, he was held down and punched and some personal property was stolen from him. Through investigative means, investigators developed a 16-year-old male juvenile from Berwick as a suspect in the case. On February 7th, investigators located the juvenile suspect with the victim’s belongings in his possession and he was subsequently arrested for Illegal Possession of Stolen Things. Investigators continued to work the case and were able to link the suspect to the robbery, specifically, as the individual who stole the victim’s items. A warrant was issued for the juvenile’s arrest and he was placed under arrest on the warrant for Simple Robbery. Following booking, he was released to his guardian pending juvenile court proceedings. The investigation is ongoing.
