Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:

W/M 16 Arrested on December 17, 2021 at 11:21 AM for

W/M 16 Arrested on December 17, 2021 at 11:21 AM for

  • DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING

On December 17, 2021 at approximately 08:40 AM the Berwick Police Department received a call from the Berwick High School advising that two students who were involved in a physical altercation. Officers responded and learned that the two boys were involved in a physical altercation with each other. Both juveniles were placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where they were booked on the charge of Disturbing the Peace by Fighting. Following the booking process, the juveniles were released to their parents pending a court hearing.

Christopher Henry W/M 38 Circle Dr. Morgan City was arrested on December 18, 2021 at 02:57 AM for

  • DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED FIRST OFFENSE
  • CARELESS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE WITH A CRASH

On December 18, 2021 at approximately 02:27 AM the Berwick Police Department received a call of a vehicle crash on River Road near Berwick South Road. Officers responded and made contact with Henry. While speaking with Henry, officers detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath and person. Henry admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the night prior to the crash. Henry was asked to perform a series of standardized Field Sobriety Tests which he did so and performed poorly on. Henry was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he provided a valid breath sample of 0.173G % BAC. Henry was then booked on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated First Offense and Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle with a Crash. Following the booking process, Henry posted a $3,000.00 bond.

John Henry W/M 48 Texas St. Berwick was arrested on December 18, 2021 at 10:35 PM for

  • DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED FIRST OFFENSE
  • RECKLESS OPERATION

On December 18, 2021 at approximately 10:15 PM the Berwick Police Department received a call about a vehicle traveling on LA Hwy. 182 in a reckless manner. The caller advised that a vehicle was traveling in the wrong lane of travel. The license plate and description of the vehicle were given to officers at which time it was located and a traffic stop was conducted. Officers made contact with the driver Henry. While speaking with Henry, officers observed signs of impairment. Henry performed poorly on field sobriety testing and was placed under arrest. Henry was then transported to the Berwick Police Department where he provided a valid breath sample of 0.225G% BAC. Henry was booked on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated First Offense and Reckless Operation. Henry posted a $3,000.00 bond.

Christopher D. Landry W/M 44 Sixth St. Berwick was arrested on December 18, 2021 at 11:46 PM for

  • DOMESTIC ABUSE BATTERY

On December 18, 2021 at approximately 10:40 PM officers responded to a residence on Sixth Street, to remove a subject. Upon arrival officers met with the complainant and observed visible injuries on her face. Through investigation it was learned that Landry committed several batteries on the victim earlier in the night. Officers made contact with Landry at the residence and he was placed under arrest. Landry was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Domestic Abuse Battery. Landry remains incarcerated pending a bond.

Ashton Allen W/M 30 Ehrlich St. Berwick was arrested on December 19, 2021 at 12:53 PM for

  • VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER

Amber Fendley W/F 36 Ehrlich St. Berwick was arrested on December 19, 2021 at 3:38 PM for

  • VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER

On December 19, 2021 at approximately 11:56 AM officers received information that two individuals that both had protective orders against each other were communicating with each other. One of the individuals being Fendley was already incarcerated in the Berwick Jail at the time. Officers Learned that Fendley was contacting Allen from the jail phone and that Allen was contacting her as well. Allen was located at his residence and placed under arrest. Allen was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charge of Violation of Protective Order and posted a $2,500.00 bond. Fendley was additionally charged with Violation of Protective Order as well and remains incarcerated in the Berwick Jail.

Renita Bias B/F 37 Railroad Ave. Morgan City was arrested on December 19, 2021 at 10:20 PM for

  • WARRANT- THEFT BY SHOPLIFTING

On December 19, 2021 at approximately 10:00 PM officers located Bias at the Patterson Police Department had active warrants through the Berwick Police Department for Theft by Shoplifting. Bias was placed under arrest and released on a summons to appear in court in January 2022
