Bernadette “Bunny” Miller Boudreaux, 68, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Bunny was born on March 23, 1953 in Morgan City, the daughter of Raymond Miller Sr. and Bernadette Leonard Miller.
Bunny loved her family and cherished every moment she was able to spend with them, from dinners, bbq’s and crawfish boils, those times were special to her. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, and they were always there to taste test when she made her fudge and pecan pies. She had a passion for reading mystery and romance books.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two children, Merlin Boudreaux III and wife Tabitha and Nicole Boudreaux Gilmore both of Morgan City; five grandchildren, Hunter Taylor and wife Katie of Lafayette, Alyssa Gilmore and fiancé Nico Guarisco of Morgan City, Joseph Gilmore of Morgan City, Merlin Boudreaux IV of Morgan City, Kaleb Boudreaux of Morgan City; five sisters, Mary Cowart and husband Joe of Pierre Part, Ramona Brizzard and husband Spencer of Tomball, Texas, Doreen Wiggins and husband Ronnie of Stephensville, Karen Hamilton of Minden, Louisiana, Josephine Crabtree of Stephensville, one brother, Raymond Miller Jr. of Morgan City; numerous nieces and nephews.
Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sr. and Bernadette Leonard Miller; her husband, Merlin Boudreaux Jr., two sisters, Arlene DeHart and Ora Mae Boles; maternal grandparents, Eno and Amanda Tourera Leonard; paternal grandparents, Gus and Elzina Billiot Miller.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Hunter Taylor, Joseph Gilmore, Merlin Boudreaux IV, Kaleb Boudreaux, Nico Guarisco, Raymond Miller Jr., Allen DeHart Jr., John Boles.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Journey Hospice as well as Dr. Natalie Dishman for the loving care they gave to Bunny.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Henry Sebastian celebrating Mass. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Twin City Funeral Home and the visitation will resume from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Following Mass, Bunny will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
