St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell reports a Bayou Vista man has been charged with first degree rape, home invasion, and prostitution-solicitation.
Troy Phillip Carnley, 45, of Bayou Vista was arrested on June 2, 2025, around 1:34 am. Back on June 1, 2025, a SMPSO Detective responded to a complaint of a possible rape in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the detective spoke to a woman who stated she was raped by a man she identified as Troy Carnley.
The detective investigated the incident and obtained evidence to substantiate Carnley as the suspect. A warrant was obtained for Carnley, and he was transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking. Bail has not been set at this time.
