A Bayou L’Ourse man was arrested on Friday afternoon and charged with felony obscenity and disturbing the peace by intoxication, according to Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon.

Ty Quang Thai, 53, of 261 Vivian Street, was taken into custody after deputies responded to a call about an intoxicated individual exposing himself in a public area near the intersection of LA 398 and LA 662.

The incident began when Thai was asked to leave a local retail establishment due to his apparent intoxication. After departing on foot, he allegedly exposed himself in an obscene manner.

Deputies located Thai and noted that he appeared to be intoxicated. He became belligerent and argumentative with the investigating deputy, leading to his arrest.

Thai was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of disturbing the peace by intoxication and obscenity. He remains incarcerated with a bond set at $50,000.
