FRANKLIN, LA – Bayou Bend Hospital is proud to announce that they have been awarded the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Critical Access Hospital Accreditation on August 4, 2023. This achievement showcases the hospital’s dedication towards providing safe and high-quality patient care.
In May 2023, the hospital underwent an unannounced, thorough onsite review by a team of Joint Commission experts. They assessed compliance with numerous Critical Access Hospital standards in areas such as emergency management, environment of care, infection prevention and control, leadership, medication management, and individual rights and responsibilities.
Joint Commission standards are formulated with input from healthcare professionals, measurement experts, and patients. These standards utilize scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations enhance their performance. The survey included onsite observation and interviews.
