NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Travis Lamont Shepard, 37, of 122 B&L Street, Bertrandville, LA, on multiple felony warrants.
On July 9, 2022, deputies responded to call of shots fired into a residence near Bertrandville. The responding deputies and detectives initiated an investigation. It was determined that the complainant had filed a protective order against Shepard which was valid.
A search warrant was executed at which time a firearm believed to be used in the crime was recovered. Travis Lamont Shepard has a prior felony conviction which prohibits him from possessing a firearm in addition to the active protective order.
Travis Lamont Shepard had been in a domestic relationship with the complainant.
At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Travis Lamont Shepard. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm
*Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Certain Felonies
*Violation of a Protective Order
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Travis Lamont Shepard remains incarcerated with bond set at $125,000.
