Dong Van Tang, 57, of Amelia, pled guilty on May 14, 2025, to a charge of Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile. His sentencing is scheduled for August 12, 2025, before Judge Vincent Borne.

The charge stems from allegations that Tang inappropriately touched a juvenile, which led to a law enforcement investigation. The case initially went to trial in 2024 but ended in a mistrial due to juror misconduct.

The case was prosecuted by Jennifer Reasoner and investigated by the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Additional support was provided by the Audrey Hepburn CARE Center at Children’s Hospital New Orleans and the Acadiana Criminalistics Laboratory.
