Law enforcement officers are currently searching for a boater who has been reported missing in Lower St. Martin Parish. A spokeswoman with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office tells KQKI News that a 76-year-old man departed from the Belle River boat launch Thursday morning at 11:15 a.m. and was headed towards the Grand Lake area. His boat was discovered Thursday evening in Grand Lake. No other details including the man’s identity have been released at this time. The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana Department Wildlife & Fisheries are assisting with the search. We will release more information as it becomes available.
