NEW IBERIA, LA — October 10, 2025 — A narcotics investigation by the New Iberia Police Department (NIPD) led to the arrest of five individuals and the seizure of drugs, firearms, and cash earlier this week.
According to NIPD, just after 11:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6, officers with the department’s Direct Patrol Unit conducted a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Jane Street as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the stop, officers reportedly discovered illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver, Deante Armstead, and the passenger, Nathan Lively, were taken into custody.
Investigators later obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of San Jacinto Circle, where officers located additional narcotics and three firearms. Three more suspects — Sajayvious Robertson, Travis Miller, and Terrol Dugas — were subsequently arrested.
In total, officers seized:
3 firearms
U.S. currency
29 suspected Zolpidem Tartrate pills
4 suspected Oxycodone pills
47 suspected Hydrocodone pills
69 suspected Amphetamine pills
17 suspected Suboxone pills
Approximately 3.5 ounces of suspected Promethazine and Codeine mixture
Approximately 5.5 ounces of suspected Marijuana
Approximately 1 gram of suspected Crack Cocaine
Approximately 4 grams of suspected Crystal Methamphetamine
All five individuals were booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on multiple drug- and firearm-related charges.
