St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell advises that over the last 24-hour reporting period, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 62 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Chad Michael Bertrand, 40, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on July 31, 2025, at 9:52 pm on a warrant for failure to appear for criminal neglect of family. Bail has not been set at this time.
Charleston Jontell Grogan, 30, Morgan City, LA, was arrested on August 1, 2025, at 1:07 pm on the following charges:
- Possession of synthetic cannabinoids
- Resisting an officer by giving false information
- Possession of crack cocaine
- Possession of schedule I drugs
- Warrant for failure to appear for domestic abuse battery
- MCPD warrant for contempt of court
Bail has not been set at this time.
Joshua Mitchel Aucoin Sr., 39, Bayou Vista, LA, was arrested on July 31, 2025, at 5:54 am on two warrants for failure to appear on the following charges:
- Aggravated assault
- Resisting an officer
- Improper lane usage
- Failure to stop/yield at stop sign
- No driver’s license on person
- Possession of marijuana
- Operating a vehicle while license is suspended/revoked/canceled
