St. Mary Parish Public Schools has announced the appointment of Becky Voisin as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). With over 30 years of experience in accounting and financial management, Voisin has served as the district’s Chief Accountant since 2008. Before joining the district, she worked as a controller at Cameron Iron Works for nearly a decade. A graduate of Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (1995), she is also a Certified School Business Official (CLSBO) through the Louisiana Association of School Business Officials (LASBO) and has consistently maintained over 60 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) hours every three years since earning her certification in 2012. The position became available following the announced retirement of Mr. Alton Perry, the long-serving CFO of St. Mary Parish Schools.
Voisin says is eager to embrace the challenges of her new role, stating, “I truly enjoy the challenge of learning new things.” She believes her wealth of accounting experience has thoroughly prepared her to lead the district’s financial operations. Superintendent Buffy Fegenbush commended Voisin’s forward-thinking approach, noting, “She stays informed of current trends and regulations and is committed to being proactive in her approach to district budgeting. I am confident her expertise and leadership will continue to support the district’s financial health and contribute to its ongoing success.”
