Franklin Man Arrested on Attempted Second-Degree Murder Charge

In the past 24 hours, the Franklin Police Department has responded to seven complaints, resulting in several arrests. Among those arrested was 22-year-old Ahtajday Phillips from Anderson St., Franklin, LA. On October 18, 2023, at 8:57 AM, Phillips was taken into custody under a warrant issued on October 8, 2022, for attempted second-degree murder. Additionally, he faced charges of possessing schedule I narcotics (marijuana) with the intent to distribute, illegally carrying weapons, and having drug paraphernalia. After being booked and processed, Phillips was transferred to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center.

Furthermore, while in custody at the Franklin Police Department, Henry Dennis Jr., 39 years old from Curtis Dr., Franklin, LA, was arrested on October 18 at 11:29 AM on charges of bank fraud and felony theft. Dennis was booked and processed before being released on a $10,000 bond.

Lastly, Jonah Madison from Second St., Franklin, LA was apprehended on October 18 at 11:32 AM. The arrest happened under a warrant issued two days earlier on October 16 for four counts of criminal mischief and disturbing the peace by alarming the public. Madison was booked and processed before being released with instructions to appear in Third Ward City Court.
