Berwick Arrest Report 1-3-2023

Berwick Police Chief David Leonard reports the following arrests:

Lionel Mitchell B/M 60 Freetown Ln. Labadieville was arrested on December 28, 2022 at 11:01 AM for

  • ASSUMPTION PARISH WARRANT- AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AND DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED

On December 28, 2022 at approximately 09:44 AM officers responded to a suspicious persons complaint. Upon arrival in the area officers located the described person who was identified as Mitchell. While speaking with Mitchell it was learned that he had active warrants through the Assumption Parish Sheriffs Office. Mitchell was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the warrants and transported to Assumption Parish.

Mark Smith B/M 58 Myrtle St. Patterson was arrested on December 31, 2022 at 03:12 AM for

  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE II CRACK COCAINE
  • POSSESSION OF SCHEDULE I MDMA
  • SWITCHED LICENSE PLATE
  • NO INSURANCE

On December 31, 2022 at approximately 02:42 AM a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for having a switched license plate. Officers made contact with Smith and while speaking with him an odor of Marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle. A search was conducted at which time suspected Crack Cocaine and MDMA were located inside. Smith was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the charges of Possession of Schedule II Crack Cocaine, Possession of Schedule I MDMA, Switched License Plate, and No Insurance.

John Goodman W/M 67 Lydia St. Patterson was arrested on January 1, 2023 at 01:25 AM for

  • DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED FIRST OFFENSE
  • IMPROPER LANE USAGE

On January 1, 2023 at approximately 01:12 AM officers in the area of River Road observed a vehicle leave it’s lane of travel several times. A traffic stop was conducted and officers made contact with the driver Goodman. While speaking with Goodman, he showed signs of impairment. Goodman admitted to drinking and performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Goodman was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he provided a valid breath sample of 0.126G% BAC. Goodman was booked on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated First Offense and Improper Lane Usage.

Ray Aucoin W/M 58 Keith St. Morgan City was arrested on January 1, 2023 at 04:05 AM for

  • DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED 3RD OFFENSE
  • CARELESS OPERATION WITH A CRASH

On January 1, 2023 at approximately 03:15 AM a vehicle was observed in the ditch on Hwy. 182. Officers met with the driver who was identified as Aucoin. While speaking with Aucoin he showed signs of impairment. Aucoin performed poorly on Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was placed under arrest. Aucoin was transported to the Berwick Police Department where he submitted a breath sample of 0.000 G% BAC. Officers suspected other impairment involvements and a search warrant was obtained. Blood samples were collected and Aucoin was booked on the charges of Driving While Intoxicated 3rd Offense and Careless Operation of a motor vehicle with a crash.

Joshua Miller W/M 26 Boudreaux St. Berwick was arrested on January 1, 2023 at 9:15 PM for

  • MORGAN CITY WARRANT-PROBATION VIOLATION

On January 1, 2023 at approximately 8:51 PM Officers responded to a residence on Boudreaux Street for a standby. Upon arrival officers made contact with Miller and learned that he had active warrants through the Morgan City Police Department. Miller was placed under arrest and transported to the Berwick Police Department where he was booked on the outstanding warrant for Probation Violation. Following the booking process, Miller was transported to the Morgan City Police Department.

 

Kylon Garrison B/M 18 La Hwy. 182 Berwick was arrested on January 1, 2023 at 10:49 PM for

  • POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA (UNDER 14 GRAMS)

On January 1, 2023 at approximately 10:35 PM during a traffic stop, Garrison was identified as a passenger. While speaking with Garrison an odor of Marijuana was detected which he admitted to having Marijuana. Officers collected the Marijuana and Garrison was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana (under 14 grams). Garrison was released on a summons to appear in court.
