On October 1, 2022, at approximately 12:45 AM, the Franklin Police Department responded to several calls of shots fired in the area of Iberia Street and Oakdale Street. Officers arrived in the area and began investigation efforts. It was learned that projectiles entered a residence and a vehicle. No one was injured.
Juvenile Male, 15, was arrested on October 19, 2022, at 11:33 AM, on a warrant for criminal street gang activity, principal to attempted second degree murder – 18 counts, principal to aggravated criminal damage to property – 2 counts, principal to illegal use of a weapon, and principal to illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
During the investigation, it was learned that the juvenile was additionally involved in a shots fired incident which occurred on September 23, 2022, at approximately 11:27 PM, in the area of Iberia Street and Alpha Street. It was learned that projectiles hit a vehicle on Iberia Street and two (2) vehicles on Alpha Street. No one was injured.
The juvenile was additionally arrested on a warrant for illegal use of a weapon, aggravated criminal damage to property – 3 counts, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, and criminal street gang activity. The juvenile was booked, processed, and released pending juvenile court.
The investigations are still ongoing and additional arrests may be pending.
