Chitimacha Police Chief Hal Hutchinson reports the following arrests:
On 1-24-21, Freddie Matthews, 82, Iberia Street, New Iberia, was arrested for hit and run driving and released on a summons. Officers responded to a Tribal business in reference to a hit and run. During the investigation, it was learned Matthews was involved but already left the premises. Contact was made with Matthews and he turned himself in to the Chitimacha Police Department where he was arrested on the charge.
On 1-26-21, Curtis Picard, 32, Tunica Drive, Charenton, was arrested on a State of Louisiana Parole warrant for violations of parole. He was transported to the parish jail. Officers were made aware of the parole warrant and located Picard where he was arrested.
On 1-26-21, Michael Johnson, 56, Choctaw Street, Charenton, was arrested for 2 counts of the Tribal charge of criminal trespass and released on a summons. Officers responded to two (2) Tribal residences in reference to a trespasser. During the investigation, it was learned Johnson was involved and was arrested.
