The Louisiana Department of Transportation says the Highway 182/Atchafalaya River bridge will remain closed through Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. The bridge was closed Tuesday afternoon after a truck struck the cross beam on the Berwick side of the bridge.
LA DOTD says they are keeping the bridge closed in order to bring additional equipment to repair the damage. Motorists are advised to give themselves ample time for their Wednesday morning commute due to the Highway 90 bridge construction, which is down to one lane in both directions.
