The 2023 Louisiana Shrimp & Petroleum Festival poster created by local artist Patricia Breaux was unveiled on Thursday evening. Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Patricia was brought up in Berwick, Louisiana and possesses a deep connection to the region and its natural beauty.

Breaux’s artistic talent traces back to her grandfather, a renowned wildlife artist of the early 1900s. Under the mentorship of Morgan City’s Browning Graham, she honed her skills and has since painted numerous commissioned works showcasing Louisiana’s lush landscapes. Active in previous festival pageants and art shows, Patricia eagerly took the opportunity to design this year’s poster.

A devoted sports fan, a lover of LSU and Saints games, Breaux enjoys spending her time post-retirement exploring the swamps and bayous of Louisiana. With local heritage serving as an inspiration, her artwork stands as an emblem of the state’s vibrant culture and landscape.
