Two shootings were reported in Franklin in just over 24 hours over the weekend, with three juveniles being charged with attempted-second degree murder.
Just before 8:00 pm Friday night, Franklin Police Department, Franklin Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance responded to shots fired in the area of O’Neal Chube Street. The Franklin Police Department said late Friday night that the juvenile victim was transported to a local hospital and was in stable condition as of Friday night. Two juveniles were identified as suspects in that shooting.
An arrest report issued by the Franklin Police Department Monday morning stated that two juveniles were arrested Saturday morning at 10:00 am and charged with attempted second-degree murder, illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile, and firearm-free zone, with a third juvenile being arrested on the same charges on Sunday at 11:16 am.
A second shooting was reported Saturday night. Franklin Police said at approximately 10:07 PM, the Franklin Police Department responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the area of Iberia Street. One victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. One person of interest has been identified at this time.
