Two Arrests Made in 2007 Franklin Police Department Cold Case

In the 16th Judicial District of St. Mary Parish, a Grand Jury has issued indictments related to a cold case from the Franklin Police Department in 2007. The case resulted in two arrests as follows:

Roderick Phillips, a 34-year-old resident of Kingsley Dr., Pearland, TX, surrendered to authorities on August 14, 2023, at 11:42 AM under a warrant for indictment on charges of aggravated rape. Phillips underwent booking and processing procedures before being released on a $250,000 bond.

Similarly, Tajh Mathews, aged 33 and living on Tiger Pointe Dr., Baton Rouge, LA, turned himself in at 3:07 PM on August 14, 2023. He faced an indictment warrant for aggravated rape as well. After being booked and processed by the police, Mathews secured his release with a $250,000 bond.

The authorities are expecting additional arrests in connection with this case.
