Two Arrested in Homicide Investigation

๐€๐ฅ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ฌ ๐‰๐ซ., ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘, Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 9, 2025, at 5:27 am on a warrant for 2nd degree murder, 2nd degree murder-attempted (4 counts), and possession of firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies (2 counts).

๐๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐ข๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐ก, ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ–, Franklin, LA, was arrested on May 9, 2025, at 5:28 am on a warrant for accessory after the fact/ 2nd degree murder, possession of MDMA, and possession of schedule I CDS.

๐…๐ซ๐š๐ง๐ค๐ฅ๐ข๐ง, ๐‹๐€ โ€“ At approximately 7:14 PM on Tuesday evening, May 6, 2025, deputies with the St. Mary Parish Sheriffโ€™s Office responded to a report of a shooting on Bray Lane in Franklin.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that 20-year-old Dalyn Bell of Franklin had been struck by gunfire. Bell was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Deputies secured the area, and SMPSO detectives initiated a homicide investigation.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives gathered evidence and identified two individualsโ€”Collins and Josephโ€”as persons of interest. After interviewing both subjects and further developing the case, detectives obtained arrest warrants.

On May 8, 2025, Collins and Joseph were transported to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for booking on charges related to the incident.

Bail was set on Collins at $2,600,000. Bail was set on Joseph at $505,000.
