On Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 3:38PM, officers responded to the Fourth St. area regarding a shots fired complaint. When officers arrived in the area, they witnessed a vehicle leave the area and run several stop signs. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle but it failed to stop. The vehicle went to the end of Versen St. where the passenger exited the vehicle and he was immediately detained. He was identified as Tommy Trosclair, Jr. Trosclair was found to be in possession of marijuana and heroin.
The vehicle fled the area again crashing into a parked car in the process. The driver abandoned the vehicle on Utah St. and fled on foot. A search was conducted and the driver, identified as Christian Businelle, was found hiding under a house trailer. Businelle was found to have a digital scale and a large amount of US Currency on his person. Officers also located a firearm near Businelle. A search of the car was conducted and officers located a large bag of methamphetamine as well as items of drug paraphernalia.
A search warrant was executed at Businelle’s residence on Versen St. and officers located another firearm. The firearm that was found near Businelle was reported stolen out of Jefferson Parish. A criminal history check revealed that Businelle is a convicted felon, therefore he is prohibited from possessing a firearm. In conclusion, Businelle and Trosclair were both arrested and booked into the Berwick Jail where they remain with no bond set.
Tommy J. Trosclair Jr., 30 years old, of Enterprise Dr. Patterson, was arrested on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 4:11PM, on the following charges:
Possession of Heroin
Possession of Marijuana
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)
Christian E. Businelle, 25 years old, of Versen St. Berwick, was arrested on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 5:28PM, on the following charges:
Aggravated Flight From an Officer
Possession of Methamphetamine w/Intent to Distribute
Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (2 Counts)
Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm
Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a CDS
Violation of Uniform CDS Law (Drug Free Zone)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Transactions Involving Drug Proceeds
Hit and Run
Stop Sign Violation
No Driver’s License
