Truck Strikes Clearance Beam: Highway 182/Atchafalaya Bridge Reopened

Update: Bridge has been reopened.

An 18-Wheeler struck the crossbeam on the Berwick side of the highway 182 bridge this afternoon. The truck made it through from the Morgan City side before striking the bridge on the Berwick side. DOTD did inspections and reopened the bridge around 6 p.m. on Monday evening.
