PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Gregory J. Hills, 39, of 6112 Highway 308, Paincourtville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic incident near Paincourtville late Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the LA 308 / Dorseyville area and attempted to stop the vehicle. The suspect driver fled from the deputy but eventually turned into a private driveway. The driver, now identified as Gregory J. Hills, exited the vehicle at which time deputies approached him. The suspect, Gregory J. Hills, at some point attempted to run but was quickly subdued by deputies. During a protective pat down search, Gregory J. Hills was determined to be in possession of a significant amount of narcotics.
It was determined that Gregory J. Hills was driving under a suspended driver’s license and was wanted in Assumption Parish on multiple failure to appear warrants.
Narcotics agents executed a search warrant on the suspect vehicle and seized a significant amount of methamphetamine.
Gregory J. Hills was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine
*Possession of Marijuana
*Resisting an Officer – 2 Counts
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Following Too Closely
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish for Trial on Charges of Aggravated Flight
*Failure to Appear – Assumption Parish – on Charges of Use of Multiple Beam Road
Lighting Equipment, Driving Under Suspension
*Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute.
Gregory J. Hills remains incarcerated with bond set at $151,968.00.
Hills was awaiting a bond hearing for the charge of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute at the time of the press release.
