Shooting Suspect Wanted In Assumption Parish

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports that on June 12, 2023, deputies responded to a call of someone being shot in the area of LA 1008. Responding deputies located a victim with gunshot wounds to the lower extremities.

Detectives initiated an investigation and determined that the victim was shot at a residence in the 300 block of Martin Luther King Drive in Napoleonville.

Charles Jones, Jr., 52, who was residing at the Martin Luther King address but shows a listed address of 18012 Planchet Road, Greenwell Springs, LA, is identified as the suspect in this shooting incident which occurred during a brief argument. Charles Jones, Jr. is believed to have fled the area after the incident.

Detectives have secured arrest warrants charging Charles Jones, Jr. with:

  • Attempted Second Degree Murder
  • Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities
  • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Efforts to arrest Charles Jones, Jr. are ongoing and anyone having information of his whereabouts should contact the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-369-2912 or the Criminal Investigations Section at 985-526-1627.
