Three Arrested Following Juvenile Assault Investigation in Jeanerette

Jeanerette — Three suspects have been arrested following an investigation into the assault and armed robbery of a juvenile that occurred late last month, according to the Jeanerette Police Department.

Police say officers responded on April 28, 2026, at approximately 5:51 p.m. to a report of a juvenile being assaulted with a handgun. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the victim suffering from serious injuries consistent with the reported attack.

Responding officers secured the scene and provided aid to the victim alongside the Jeanerette Fire Department. Investigators stated that evidence collected at the scene supported the victim’s account of the incident.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified three suspects and obtained arrest warrants for all involved.

Authorities said that on May 7, 2026, at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers with the Jeanerette Police Department, assisted by the Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office and the Baldwin Police Department, located two of the suspects at their residences and arrested them without incident. A third suspect later surrendered to authorities.

Armed Robbery
Armed Robbery with Use of a Firearm Enhancement
Illegal Carrying of Weapons
Cruelty to Juveniles
Aggravated Battery

Tre’Vionne Terrell Clavelle, 19, of Jeanerette, charged with:
Principal to Armed Robbery
Principal to Cruelty to Juveniles
Principal to Aggravated Battery

Braylon Andree Chatman, 17, of Jeanerette, charged with:
Principal to Armed Robbery
Principal to Cruelty to Juveniles
Principal to Aggravated Battery

All three suspects were processed and booked into the Law Enforcement Center pending transfer to the Iberia Parish Jail.

Jeanerette Police Chief Terrance Moore thanked the Jeanerette City Marshal’s Office, Baldwin Police Department, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office for their assistance during the investigation.
